GRACE ZUZU DARBYSHIRE
I'm Zuzu Darbyshire! Born in NYC, moved to Austin very young, and spent my summers with my Mum's family in Jamaica. My love for photography definitely came from my Dad's influence. Dad always had a camera in hand! In NYC, Texas, and Jamaica. Anywhere we went. My photography journey started by stealing my Dad's Canon EOS 30D and running around taking silly photos of my family.
After an injury to my hand took away my ability to draw for a time, I started to take photography seriously. I needed a creative outlet, and on my 18th birthday my Dad watched my unwrap a box filled with all his camera gear. He told me to use it until it falls apart, and then He'd buy me any camera I wanted. One week after that Canon 30D died my Dad passed away. Our first Christmas without him my Mom surprised me with my dream camera, and I haven't put it down since.
